Maybe I didn’t write for a month because nothing really interesting here happens anymore…I suppose with the exception of the drama. Although there’s no routine – its just the same old stuff…if that makes sense?
Living in the new house is still lots of fun. I think it has actually made me appreciate my time at school a bit more – which is a good thing. Now that I don’t live there I get more done while I am there, because I know I wont be able to just walk on over at 10 if I need something or didn’t get something done. I also don’t have the entire school population sitting at my door doing everything with me anymore – so it is more enjoyable to see them now. Not that it was horrible before, but it’s just a nice change.
We had a PTA meeting today finally – after no one showed up to the last three. We are planning education week right now – and I am having a lot of fun with that one! As of now we are planning to have school in the mornings and then do activities, involving both parents and students, which celebrate education, in the afternoon. The actual week isn’t until the 3rd week in April, so I am astonished and excited that we are already planning for it. The town attempted to protest at first, saying they didn’t like the teachers, why should they celebrate them…but I convinced them that wasn’t the way to go about it. Instead, they wrote formal complaints to the ministry and are going to take place in the week while attempting to help out the teachers when they can. I like the newly found honest approach the community members are taking in confronting the teachers. Before, everyone simply sat back and complained…however, now, they are calling them on their laziness and reporting them to Majuro. Go Lukoj!
Ok well that is really all that is going on here. I wish I had more exciting things to tell you about…maybe next time. This is the Marshalls, you never know what’s coming.
